Jim Patrick has been helping business, government and creative sectors relate to each other for over 20 years. He has been a Senior Associate with Proof Strategies since October 2020. Jim’s career has taken him from booking North American tours for a professional Shakespeare company, to the Department of Canadian Heritage, to the Canadian Association of Broadcasters, the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association and to Shaw Communications, where he was Vice President of Government Relations. Jim is a past-President of the Government Relations Institute of Canada, and a long-serving member of the board of directors for the Canadian Chapter of the International Institute of Communications (IIC Canada). Since 2010 has produced IIC Canada’s annual, two-day bilingual communications law and policy conference, broadcast nationally on CPAC. Jim holds a Master of Arts in Communications (Carleton), a Bachelor of Arts in English and Drama (Mount Allison), and a Certificate in Music Business and Artist Management (Berklee College of Music). A permanent guitar student, Jim has been lucky enough to work with some of his favourite bands to produce vinyl LP reissues of some of his favourite records.
