WASHINGTON, D.C. – January 16, 2020 – Today, Proof Strategies announced that Black Women’s Health Imperative (BWHI) will receive $10,000 in pro-bono communications work as the fourth recipient of its annual communications grant.
The Black Women’s Health Imperative has led the movement for improved health outcomes for Black women for nearly four decades. Their mission is to promote health equity and to continuously provide the nation’s 19.5 million Black women and girls with the resources and education needed to understand and improve their health, across all lifespans. They have achieved this through strategic programming and initiatives focused on health policy, public education, research, and much more.
“The Black Women’s Health Imperative is thrilled to work with Proof Strategies as the recipient of this year’s grant,” said Black Women’s Health Imperative President and CEO, Linda Blount. “BWHI is the first organization of its kind and continues to lead the fight for health equity and social justice for Black women. We look forward to amplifying our work and digital presence with the Proof team.”
The Proof Strategies grant recognizes the leadership of DC-based organizations that are making an impact. Proof supports these organizations through the donation of strategic communications and counsel. Previous recipients of this grant include Active Minds, the DC Rape Crisis Center, the Mathematical Association of America and the Animal Welfare Institute.
Mimi Carter, Senior Vice President and US General Manager at Proof Strategies stated, “We are delighted to assist an organization that has had such a profound impact on their community. BWHI has improved the lives of so many women, and we are immensely grateful they have trusted us with furthering their message and initiatives.”
Proof Strategies and BWHI will commence their work together on April 1, 2020.
