Josh Zanin
Josh is a public affairs and corporate communications leader with more than a dozen years of experience in the public and private sectors. His expertise includes policy analysis, crisis communications, public affairs, media relations, digital advocacy, strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, executive thought leadership, corporate reputation-building, and integrated communications marketing.
As a consultant, Josh has counselled senior executives on public policy advocacy, supported one of the globe’s top 10 companies chart the course out of a communications crisis and helped clients successfully reach their target audiences in markets around the world. He’s a veteran political campaigner — having worked on races at the local and national levels — and has served on the Canadian senior leadership team of one of the world’s top technology companies where he delivered advice directly to the CEO.
Previously, Josh served on Parliament Hill giving communications advice on files as varied as international trade, defence and intergovernmental relations. He worked in the press department of the Prime Minister’s Office, handled media relations for the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans and served for two years as Press Secretary to the Minister of National Defence during Canada’s missions in Afghanistan and Libya. He also worked as Director of Communications to the Minister of Veterans Affairs, and to the Minister of State of Foreign Affairs (Americas and Consular Affairs).
Josh is fluent in both English and French. As a volunteer, he has been heavily involved in municipal affairs as a grassroots neighbourhood organizer and was awarded for his community work by Crime Prevention Ottawa.
