Canadian PR Society Names Proof Strategies 2020 Agency Team of the Year
Inaugural award recognizes Proof Strategies’ commitment to ethical communications and professionalism and excellence in results-driven programs.
TORONTO, Ont., October 2, 2020 — Proof Strategies, an independent Canadian public relations and marketing agency, has been named Agency Team of the Year by the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS).
The award recognizes the dedication of the Proof Strategies’ team members to ethical communications and professionalism, recent achievements as well as excellence in combining research, analysis, communications and evaluation to produce measurable results for clients.
“Since our beginning over 25 years ago, our approach has always been to create a culture of ethical behavior, innovation and a relentless pursuit of results, and to be recognized for excellence in these areas is immensely gratifying for all of us at Proof Strategies,” said Josh Cobden, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Toronto. “We applaud CPRS for creating this new award category, and specifically for including the word ‘team’ in its name, because all of our colleagues contributed to this success.”
Proof Strategies is known for doing great work, and being a great place to work, with a strong culture that enables team members to grow, thrive and be their best selves. This year, Proof Strategies was named one of the 20 Best Workplaces in Canada by Great Places to Work®, ranking top among public relations and communications firms. The agency was also included on the 2020 lists for Best Workplaces™ for Women, for Inclusion and for Mental Wellness.
As the PR and communications industry evolves, Proof Strategies has successfully been on the vanguard of change. The agency has invested in understanding and tracking trust through the Proof Strategies CanTrust Index, now in its sixth year, and the recent launch of Trustlab, a research and consultancy service offering the most deeply integrated trust-building solutions on the market today.
Proof Strategies views contributions to people and planet as cornerstones of ethical behaviour and is committed to transparency and third-party validation of these efforts. In 2008, Proof Strategies became the first public relations firm in Canada to achieve carbon neutrality, audited by the Pembina Institute, a commitment it has maintained every year. Since 2013, Proof Strategies has published a Corporate Social Responsibility report, outlining support for team members’ success, community success and environmental sustainability.
In 2020, Proof Strategies has accelerated its efforts towards equity, diversity and inclusion through initiatives such as increased staff training, the creation of an employee-led, management-supported resource group, monthly donations to BIPOC and anti-racism causes, a third-party audit of its internal processes and signing pledge commitments with the Canadian Council of Public Relations Firms (CCPRF) and BlackNorth to help eradicate racism, discrimination and inequity, both inside the public relations consulting industry and in its work with clients, stakeholders and society.
The company provides financial support to numerous causes, and Proof Strategies employees receive one paid day each year to volunteer with a registered charity. During the current pandemic for summer and winter, the company has implemented Nature Days, providing a paid day off for employees to spend time enjoying Canada’s natural beauty.
