Proof Strategies among Best Workplaces in Canada

April 14, 2021

TORONTO, ON, April 14, 2021 - Proof Strategies, an independent Canadian public relations and communications agency, has been named one of the Best Workplaces™ in Canada. The ranking is based on a thorough and independent analysis conducted by the Great Place to Work® Institute, a global people analytics and consulting firm. The list, and related stories, will appear in a Special National Report on April 16 in The Globe and Mail.

This year’s list received over 400 registrations with more than 82,000 employees across the countryparticipating in the 2021 Best Workplaces in Canada survey. The competition process is based on two criteria: two-thirds of the total score comes from confidential Trust Index Employee Survey results and the remaining one-third comes from an in-depth review of the organization’s culture.

“This pandemic has tested everyone. We have been anchored by the foundation of trust in our company, particularly the empathy and integrity to put people first and show kindness toward each other,” said Bruce MacLellan, CEO at Proof Strategies. “High trust is a key ingredient for a healthy society and especially important in a crisis such as this pandemic, as confirmed by our annual Proof CanTrust Index.”

Proof Strategies views contributions to people and the planet as cornerstones of ethical behaviour and is committed to transparency and third-party validation of these efforts. Proof has a long history of workplace awards, including being named the #1 Workplace in Canada by Great Place to Work®, the only public relations agency to ever earn this honour.

In 2020, Proof Strategies also earned individual recognition awards as the Best Workplace™ for Women; for Youth; for Diversity; for Mental Health; and for Professional Services.

Earlier this year, Proof was once again recognized among the best workplaces in Canada for women, unsurprisingly as women represent more than 60 percent of the senior management team across the Proof family of companies. In keeping with the firm’s commitment to ensuring women are in management and leadership roles, in 2020, the agency signed into the Women’s Empowerment Principles Network CEO commitment, established by the United Nations Global Compact and United Nations Women Initiatives.

In October 2020, the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) named Proof Strategies the Agency Team of the Year, recognizing the firm’s dedication to ethical communications and professionalism, recent achievements as well as excellence in combining research, analysis, communications and evaluation to produce measurable results for clients.

Last year, the agency accelerated its efforts towards equity, diversity and inclusion through initiatives including increased staff training, the creation of an employee-led, management-supported resource group, monthly donations to BIPOC and anti-racism causes, a third-party audit of its internal processes and signing pledge commitments with the Canadian Council of Public Relations Firms (CCPRF) and the BlackNorth Initiative to help eradicate racism, discrimination and inequity, both inside the public relations consulting industry and in its work with clients, stakeholders and society.
